Blogs & Bloggers

What's the word/phrase of the year? Michelle Malkin is running a poll... MM also blogs Wizbang is holding its annual Weblog Awards. Voting is underway until December 15. And John Hawkins of Right Wing News has announced the winners of the annual Warblogger Awards.

Happening today:Le Web 3 in France. Robin Hamman, Emanuele and Tom Raftery are there... Emanuele is liveblogging.

Coming Up: The Global Voices Summit, on December 16th, in Delhi, India will explore the central question: How can we use the Internet to build a more democratic, participatory global discourse? How can we create a more inclusive conversation about what is happening on our planet, and how human beings in different parts of the world are impacting each other in countless ways we don’t realize every day? I wish I could go to Delhi for this conference (maybe next year)... Blogger zigzackly will be there... Georgia is going... she blogs that Caribbean Free Radio is a finalist in the 2006 Weblog Awards in the Best Latino, Caribbean, or South American blog category!

I was aware CFR had been nominated — and many, many thanks to whoever is responsible for having done this — but I had no idea that I’d reach this far, especially given the competition I’m up against. So, if you feel so inclined, please check in and vote. Polls close at 11:59 PM (US - Eastern) December 15, 2006 (which, in case you were wondering, is the day after my birthday. And just so you know, apparently you can vote once every 24 hours.) Thanks in advance!

In return I’ll try and find a wi-fi connection when I get back to Delhi and upload my India photos to Flickr, and maybe even blog a bit about my travels.
