DNA Taken From Pitbull That Attacked 2-Year-Old Video
Police say DNA has been taken from the pitbull that attacked a toddler by allegedly sodomizing it last weekend. It was a disturbing and violent attack. The two year old child is in Women and Children's Hospital. Neighbors heard a mother screaming that her child was being raped. Now people are calling to adopt the pitbull.

Oon Yeoh has pictures from the candle light vigil that was organized in support of blogger Nat Tan, detained by police last Friday. Referring to the recent arrest of Tan, Malaysian politician Lim Kit Siang, urges the prime minister to respect human rights and reign in the abuse of power by the police.

Hong Kong: GV Editor Oiwan Lam faces court battle over Flickr photo On May 11th, Oiwan Lam, Global Voices Northeast Asia Editor, committed what she says was a deliberate act of civil disobedience. Writing on the citizen media website InMedia Hong Kong, Oiwan called on her readers to post links to erotic websites...Oiwan's post has been classified as "Class II indecent" by Hong Kong's Obscene Articles Tribunal.

While none of the above is the worst of what one might find while surfing the world wide Web, all of it is disturbing. These things are going on around us on a regular basis, and we should be aware. Not scared, but aware.
