Stepha Henry

UPDATE JANUARY 15 2008 - A BREAK IN THE CASE!!!

Tags: ,

It seems that nearly every day now we wake up to the news that another girl is missing from somewhere, and we wait for what now seems to be the inevitable outcome. How many more?

22-year-old Stepha Henry is a bright honours graduate who aspires to become a lawyer. She wanted to have a great Memorial Day weekend. So, as a birthday present to her 16-year-old sister, she took her on a trip to Miami to visit with their aunt, Carletha Clarke.

While there, Stepha decided to spend Monday night / Tuesday morning out at a club in the area, the Pepper’s Cafe. At around 1 a.m. she left her aunt’s home: relatives watched her get into a car with with a black gentleman. Stepha wore a black dress with a white t-shirt underneath.

Once they arrived at Pepper’s Cafe a video camera that was filming a promotional video recorded her entering the building. Later, a surveillance camera recording her leaving in the same dark-colored Acura Integra.

She never made it home. This was the last time anyone would see Stepha Henry. Investigators said a male friend was driving the car picked Henry up from her aunt's apartment in North Miami . They've determined that at the end of the evening the friend left without the car and without Henry. They're trying to check the origin of the car, find out where it originally came from, who originally had the car, where the car is registered and, of course, find the vehicle itself.

Calls placed to Henry's cell phone went straight to her voice mail. The petite woman was last seen wearing a black dress with a white tank top underneath and brown heels. She was carrying a brown clutch purse. Henry, who has long bronze hair, is 5'2'' and 110 pounds.

''It's been very hard. She is not the kind of girl to run off. If anyone has seen her, I am asking that you please come forward,'' Henry's mother said Wednesday.

Emily Chin's family owns Peppers Cafe.

''No one at Peppers knows anything,'' said Emily Chin, whose family owns Peppers Cafe. ''I just hope that her mother finds her.'' Chin added that Peppers employees didn't know Henry was missing until they saw her story in the news.

Photo at right is from promotional video taken at Club Peppers the night Stepha Henry vanished. It clearly shows what she was wearing that night.

MSNBC canceled a scheduled interview about Stepha so they could bring their viewers live coverage of the scene outside Paris Hilton's house on the day she was dragged back to jail. [More]

Payable by either clicking the BitCoin "tip me" button or the PayPal "donate" button in the sidebar.

WAIT, WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY TO COMMENT?
Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

I NEED TO BE HEARD! BUT I DONT WANT TO PAY.
Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
