Some recent polls have indicated that John McCain will beat either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton. But could he beat them both? If that "dream-ticket" ever materialized? Regardless of who would lead such a ticket, I'd back it, and I'd be willing to wager that smart Democrats would too. For one, it would instantly erase that 19-20% lead McCain would supposedly have as soon as either O or H dropped out. (Pollsters say significant numbers of supporters of the dropped candidate would crossover to McCain). This week has been a tough one for everyone. Obama is getting killed over those "pastor problems." Can he recover?

World News anchor Charles Gibson and This Week's George Stephanopoulos will moderate ABC News' second primetime debate... Co-sponsored by Philadelphia's ABC station, WPVI-TV, the 90-minute debate will take place Wednesday, April 16 at 8 p.m. from the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. The debate comes in the run-up to the April 22 Pennsylvania primary as Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) is attempting to close the gap with Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), who is ahead in the delegate count and in the popular vote.

The polls give Clinton an edge in Pennsylvania, as Obama has been contending with fallout from his relationship with his divisive Chicago pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Long before the sermons of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright became instant hits on YouTube and talk-show fodder for the cable news channels, Barack Obama knew he had a preacher problem. Time Magazine reports.

Re: 200 surveillance cameras at Van Dyke houses fail to stop rape suspect - Obama said his white grandmother was "like most white people", they're suspicious and nervous when they see a black man. You can't make this stuff up. To all the all the U.S. citizens who happen to be white, how's it feel to be insulted with such a negative stereotypical comment from the leading Democrat candidate for the White House?

I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.
