Joe Biden Roosevelt

Joe Biden should be old enough to know better and certainly old enough to know the truth. Following Hillary Clinton's appearance on the CBS Morning News there is speculation that Barack Obama will jettison Biden in early October. Who knows? As I've pointed out before, be ready for many surprises before election day!
My question: What's going on here? (scratches head) Much as I'd love to see Hillary on the ticket I'm concerned as to why Team Obama hasn't reined Joe in a little bit...
The most astonishing Biden comment comes via cbsnews.com, copy pasted word for word, and it even went over Katie Couric's head (unlike Obama's "my Muslim faith" comment which was corrected by an alert interviewer)
"Part of what being a leader does is to instill confidence is to demonstrate what he or she knows what they are talking about and to communicating to people ... this is how we can fix this," Biden said. "When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'look, here's what happened.'"
Unless CBS removes the link or corrects the text, look for it (and video) here. If they do indeed remove it, I'm certain you'll find screenshots of the original page if you search.

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
