Sick Day

Blah! We all have those days when something just isn't right. That was me today. Just felt lousy all day long; somewhat better now. Some kind of stomach viral thingy, I guess. Hope it's out of my system by tomorrow, because I have a great day ahead of me at work! This blogger shouldn't complain. Things could be much worse:

Omid Reza Mir Sayafi, the Iranian blogger and journalist died in prison Wednesday. He talked about Iranian new year in his blog, Rooz Negar, some 3 years back. He invited [fa] people to lay flowers on the tomb of Iranian war martyrs. In December, the 29-year old Sayafi was sentenced to two and half years in prison for allegedly insulting religious leaders, and engaging in propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

A campaign has been launched in Facebook to “Hold Iran Responsible for Death of Blogger Mirsayafi in Prison”.

Blogger Mojtaba Saminejad says [fa] Omid Reza had communicated to him two days before his death that he would possibly be allowed to exit the prison in the coming days to visit a hospital. The blogger says he was led to expect better news than this.
