INCIDENT REPORTThat email would be from long time city activist Joe Sullivan over in the Crestwood area of the city. If this is true, some tough questions need to be asked:
New Scotland Ave 700 block 4:30 PM TODAY 4/3/09
2 black males exposing themselves to young girls
and going up to houses, knocking on doors, and
doing the same to women who answered.
Also, one bm broke off driver's side mirror and
went up to door of house, with mirror in hand.
Told Nun who answered door that mirror had been
broken off by a passing vehicle.
Nun wisely opened door only a crack and kept her
foot against door as back up, in case perp tried
to force entry.
Perps pal stood lookout across street.
Residents called APD, who responded about 10
minutes later and tracked perps to a Section 8
apartment at Picotte.
Police Officer reported back saying there was
nothing they could do because the offenders
did not force their way into any home.
Unaccceptable response.
This is BS because college students are often
arrested for lewd conduct on Western Ave/Quail
for urinating in public.
Will the APD wait until guys like this do worse
next time?
Chief Tuffey and the Mayor will be advised of
this.
We cleaned out low life's from absentee owned
Hackett-Picotte apts several years ago...now they are
back.
Some perps resident in Weis Rd apts have
repeatedly robbed banks/ATM's on NS Ave.
This is what happens when urban renewal
projects like Park South displace low life
residents who migrate elsewhere in city.
Urban renewal projects should begin Uptown
securing good neighborhoods, then work their
way to mid and downtown.
When St Teresa's Church/School close later
this year. Kiss that neighborhood good bye.
We will then be next!

Anybody?
Speaking of college students, I wonder iof the police responding to this incident had the presence of mind to investigate as to whether these perpetrators might be connected to the Bailey shooting? Think about it: anyone brazen enough to yank a sideview mirror off a car on a busy street in broad daylight could be very likely to fire a gun after dark. There is also a likelihood these characters might KNOW something about the shooting.
Let's see:
-exposing yourself in public to young women
-breaking mirrors off cars
-lurking around a neighborhood
Stuff people can do in Albany and police can't do anything about it?
Hmmmm... maybe this will lure them back downtown... nah, they probably are computer-illiterate!
