Tweeters Heart Dredging
I came across a few lines in the tweetosphere by twitterers who "noticed" that on Friday NPR broadcast a dredging story which did not originate at WAMC. I just happened to be in the car listening and I did wonder at the time if the network had contacted the station about it. The dredging story is actually one that has been and continues being told in many different ways at many different times. Perhaps the twitterati missed the report I put together last week... I drove up to Ft. Edward for a personal tour of the entire facility. In addition to WAMC airing my piece, I posted photos on the station website. Over the last couple of weeks local TV has also been following the dredging story. All that happened Friday was the fact that actual dredging (as opposed to practice runs and equipment tests) had officially begun For the regular listener, the network piece fit logically and perfectly in with all that has been presented so far, without "beating the story to death." Stay tuned!

I was one of those twitterers who wondered out loud why the story was done by North Country Public radio instead of WAMC.
I heard your piece the week before ---and that made me even more curious why NPR wouldn't turn the local station best suited to cover this huge story.
All I can figure is that NCPR has some sort of deal with the network because I regularly hear their reports on NPR shows. WAMC? Almost never.
