Day 2 of being sick... I feel totally miserable. I stayed up late last night tweeting updates on my condition (one reason I did that was to encourage those who are not really interested in what I have to say but signed on as "followers" to remove me from their lists!) Those of you genuinely concerned about me, thank-you! Although I had a high fever and a sore throat, I've ruled out H1N1. I DID have a Charley Horse but I don't think that qualifies as a "muscle ache."As you can see in the photo, I've been taking meds and watching DVDs that friends were nice enough to bring over. Last night I watched THREE of them:
TRANSPORTER 3 - held my attention, cool driving stunts and all that, but I still like the origianl TRANSPORTER the best. (3 out of 5 stars)
VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA - really surprised me! An excellent movie, certainly one of Woody Allen's finest! (5 out of 5 stars)
I thought nothing could top VICKY, but I was blown away by the charming NICK AND NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST - one of those "city roadie on-the-hunt" movies like ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING - the movie's subtitle is "Every night has a soundtrack." Indeed. (5 out of 5 stars)
The other two I have yet to watch: THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL I'm already predjudiced against because I adore the original. As for CROWS ZERO, I don't know. If I don't post about either of these movies again, you'll know I have nothing to say about them.
OF course I had a fitful night's sleep... up at 5am, checking out my digital TV, only to find that CBS6 vanished without a trace, even on a re-scan. And of course, Albany media being what it is, if Channel 6 is having any problems transmitting there's no way to find out by calling the station. You get a recording and a number to call for "digital help" but nobody there to staff it.
If they had a problem when they switched channels last night, as a courtesy to viewers, the least they could have done is record an announcement saying they're having problems. I just re-scanned and re-scanned three TV sets: all of them now receive more channels than before, with the exception of CBS6, which is missing.
