Extreme Racial Hatred

Hey, all you NEDA supporters, why so silent on this case? A Muslim woman stabbed to death in a German courtroom was three months pregnant - - - Egyptian newspapers identified the woman as Marwa al-Sherbini, a 32-year-old Egyptian national who was suing her attacker after he insulted her for wearing the Islamic headscarf. The attacker, identified only as Alex W., was appealing the €750 fine he was ordered to pay in the libel suit.

The story goes back to August 2008, when Marwa filed a defamation case against her killer, a 28-year unemployed German, after he called her a “terrorist” because she wears the hijab (Islamic veil). Published reports say last Wednesday, Alex stabbed Marwa 18 times to death in a German courtroom after the judges announced she won the case against him, and that he had to pay €2,800 as a fine for his previous insults.
"...when a German guy stabs a pregnant Egyptian woman eighteen times, he is called "sick," but if an Arab or Muslim does the same with a European or American person, he will be called "terrorist,"...
Medics were unable to save Mrs. Sherbini, who was pregnant with her second child. Her three-year-old son Mustapha was with the family in court when she was killed.

Al-Sherbini was the wife of Egyptian academic Elwi Ali-Okaz. He was also hurt in the incident after he tried to help his wife and is in critical condition in hospital. Police are now investigating Alex W. for manslaughter.
Zeinobia expresses her anger in a post entitled “What If She Were A Lesbian“, and said: "May Allah bless her soul , she is a martyr of racism and hate."
blogger Sadafat commented: "If a Jew was hurt, in Germany, even with a word or a joke, the prime minister would have done everything, and called Fox News and Sky News to defend Semitism and would have even declared war on anti-Semites. But no one will cry over the Egyptian woman who died there."

Egyptian newspapers have dubbed al-Shirbini "the martyr of the veil." Her funeral took place Monday in Alexandria, with Senior Egyptian officials reportedly in attendance. Internet users are divided over a call to boycott of German products and companies. "Please join for the sake of Islam; protecting (the) hijab," one proponent said on the social-networking site Facebook. "It could be me and my wife."

Back in 2004, I interviewed people involved with the film “Nothing To Hide,” which tells the story of Iman, a Muslim girl who struggles to be an American teen-ager while preserving her outward image and identity as a Muslim. HERE'S A SNIP OF WHAT I POSTED AT THAT TIME:
Schenectady High School junior Sharara Kazimi stars as Iman; other students acted in and worked behind the scenes on the movie, produced over the summer by High School Fine Arts teacher Tom Sarnacki for the Blue Roses Theatre Company’s annual Festival of Short Films. The event was held in July at Proctor’s Theatre and at the High School.

The movie was written by High School English teacher Noura Badawi, a 26 year old Muslim woman who has taught at Schenectady for three years.

“`Nothing To Hide’” tells a story about recognizing the inner beauty in ourselves and becoming comfortable in one’s own skin in order to find inner peace, said Badawi, who also appears in the film. “As an American Muslim, I feel that although Islam and Muslims are covered daily in the news, the American public has not been exposed to Muslims as everyday Americans who sometimes struggle with what it means to be American and Muslim.”
I think no one says it better (what it means to be American and Muslim) than a dear friend, who guest-blogged for me in 2005. Read:
"A young girl's response to anti-Islamic sentiment."

  1. It is the west which has been the torch bearers of justice, honesty, human-rights, etc, which are only for the theoretical implications distant from reality. A crime committed by any Christian is interpreted to be a crime which all the world should understand only to be a part of life, but if a same crime is committed by a Muslim the whole community is addressed to be terrorist, WHY?
The killing of Ms. Marwa al-Shirbini in Germany—in the court room—shows the world a right attitude of the hypocrite Christian world. This action is called terrorism which was committed in the vicinity of the courts. This terrorist act of Christianity is not against Islam but it is against women of the world. Ms. Marwa al-Shirbini "the martyr of the veil" as addressed with this caption through out the world media, proving that the west world wants the women folks to be naked–only symbols of obscenity and vulgarity–they should not protect/cover their bodies from the eyes of the males.
On top of it while fighting for his wife Mr. Elwi Ali-Okaz has suffered a bullet wound at the hands of a security guard, which is again questionable as how accurate was the aim of the security guard who in spite of shooting the attacker shot the defender! Unlike, rest of the world the German authorities are saying that they are investigating the matter. What hypocrisy! Shame! Shame! Shame!
