Ghost Town

The Capitol in downtown Albany is dead as a doornail this morning. Yesterday's return of Senator Pedro Espada restored the denocratic majority. The Senate convened, passing over 130 bills before adjourning near 2am. Still to be taken up: the issues of mayoral control and gay marriage. I've been told that a session today is not likely. It is anticipated that Gov. Paterson will withdraw his proclamation for a special session and legislators will head back to their home districts, perhaps coming back to Albany on Monday or Tuesday. For more on Sen. Espada, see davelucas.posterous.com
