Once Again, Ladies & Gentlemen, It's Porco Time!

Local author Steve Ference to appear on National TV!

It's a brutal murder case that people in upstate New York still talk about.

Now, Friday, at 10PM, TruTV (formerly CourtTV) is airing a half-hour television special on the Christopher Porco murder case.

He was convicted of murdering his father, a prominent law clerk, and trying to murder his mother with an ax. She survived the ordeal. Originally police said she believed he was responsible for the attack, but after she woke up from a coma and recovered from her wounds, she said she never indicated he might have attacked his own family - and she stood by him at trial.

"Forensic Files" covers the case in a half-hour time-slot Friday. Steve Ference, the Capital News 9 Reporter/Anchor and Author of the locally best-selling book on the case, November Memories: Inside the Christopher Porco Case, will be featured in the program after covering the case extensively. Local attorneys, including assistant District Attorney David Rossi, who successfully co-prosecuted the case, will also be part of the television show.

Currently, Christopher Porco is in jail serving 50 years to life. An appeal has been filed and the prosecution's response is expected in the next few weeks. Then the court will decide whether to grant the appeal - and a new trial - or not.
