THE END OF THE BLOGROLL?

I've noticed more and more of the so-called "A-List" blogs are doing away with blogrolls. Those lists of links to like-minded and other bloggers of interest have been part of what blogging is all about from early 2003 on... But I guess we have to accept the fact that things often change, forever if not for better, and those things we've grown to accustomed to must give way to open doors (windows?) for other things. For now, my blogroll isn't going anywhere. Before RSS and easpecially before Google Reader came along, I kept up with my favorite blogs by regularly checking them via my blogroll. I don't use it for that purpose anymore. As long as I see readers continue using my blogroll to visit other blogs, I'll leave it up. I'm also leaving it in place because blogrolls are a part of "blog history."
