The Hackett-Allen Raccoon

I wasn't able to get my cellphone out in time (I was driving anyway) along Albany's Hackett Boulevard early Sunday morning, on my way to the coffee shop for breakfast. Suddenly, bounding across the road: what appeared to be a good-sized dog was actually a raccoon! Yikes! I had no idea they grew THIS BIG in the city.
Maybe we should nickname the critter "Billy" 'coz he is HUGE! Immediate apologies to Billy Fucillo, whose infomercial ran simultaneously on Albany Channels 10.1 and 13.1 on Saturday mid-afternon. In it he tells the story of how he got a dead man financed! I was SO tempted to run down to see Billy right away... but suddenly my wallet pinched my butt, saying "Hey Dave don't forget when gas was $4 a gallon, not so long ago..." and I was jolted back into reality. MAYBE by the time Hyundai or Kia releases a version of the Prius I'll buy it... but not until... you just don't know when the price of gasoline will skyrocket again. And it will.
There's a gentlemen who is sometimes in the coffee shop the same time I am. He lives nearby, along Allen Street and before I could tell him my 'coontale, he told me about HIS close encounter with the wild beast as it made its way out of the dumpster near his Allen Street residence. I'll be on the lookout for the creature and hopefully get a snapshot so I can post it here. Developing...
