Late Night Posting 14 August 09

Singapore's trailblazing blogger Wendy Cheng is back with more of Xiaxue's Guide To Life... I always enjoy Wendy's blog, and her videos are an extra treat! I'm so glad that the internet has shrunk the world down so much that on a quiet, lonely night one can log on and literally key in people all over the world!

Speaking of long nights ---was I? The back-to-school season is just about here, and that means lots of opportunities to communicate and commiserate with others on the Net. I've made myself a promise to get my LiveJournal blog a little more lively. LJ, although limited in features when compared with other blogging platforms, was one of the original "social networks" and in a way I'm sorry I didn't get involved with it much sooner (I began blogging on Xanga, which was a bad mistake, at least for me!) 'cos I think I'd be further ahead on it. Right now I have my Posterous articles cross-posting to LJ. Still, I don't do half a quarter as much posting on LJ as I'd like to!

Another one of my favorite bloggers (and radio personalities) is MissInfo, who also links to new Video. This time it's Jay-Z w/Kanye and Rihanna "Run This Town" (Teaser). I see by checking twitter that MissI is out and about tonight down in the city. I'm stuck in Albany this weekend, but that's okay... I have plans ;)

Besides Wendy and Min, there are many other bloggers, some very famous and others not famous at all (and never will be) but I want you guys to know I enjoy all of your blogs and appreciate all the work and time and thought that you put into your weblogs!

It doesn't matter if you have 6 readers a day or 6-thousand. What matters is you get to design and plan and tinker with your blog. While you're doing that you'll meet interesting people, stumble across strange things, you'll learn and you'll be a better person for it. The best part of Google might just be the translation services! I use it all the time to communicate with people whom I otherwise would never be able to exchange pleasantries, opinions and ideas with!

Cyberspace is ever more inhabited by government institutions in many countries. In Brazil, a Forum for Digital Culture has been launched to, so far, positive blogosphere reactions.

The BlogPower 2009 [es] event will take place on August 15 in Santiago, Chile. Maria Pastora [es], a blogger and journalist, will be tweeting the conferences at @blogpower.
