Meet Monica Tang!

One day I was websurfing, bloghoPPing, when I came across a wonderful blog, in Norwegian... I'll let the blogger herselftell you all about it!

My name is Monica Tang and I am a 19 year old Norwegian blogger. I've blogged since 2004, and this whole thing started when I was tired of my mum reading my diary. I created this account on LiveJournal (LJ), and started to write about my everyday there instead. All of my entries were private, but after a while I found many interesting lifestyle blogs on LJ. Many of them got a lot of comments, and I thought it would be great to get some feedback myself.

I made a new account on LJ in 2005, and after a while I started to join different communities. I made some new online friends, and to make sure they did understand my entries I began to write in English. Sadly enough I also began to be addicted to get feedbacks and I started to always think about what I could write so I could entertain other people - instead of write about stuff I wanted to write about without caring about what other people found entertaining.

I was thinking about how sad this whole situation was for me, and I decided to blog in Norwegian again. Besides, English isn't my first language, so I often felt that I couldn't express what I really wanted. And what is the point about blogging about stuff if your opinions don't come through because of language barriers?

I started to blog on Blogspot (in Norwegian of course), and I have to admit that I kind of missed the readers. I could get 50+ comments on one single entry about ...NOTHING on LJ, but on Blogspot I rarely got 1 on my serious entries. I started to get used of it after a while, and I slowly began to blog about stuff that -I- wanted to write about without thinking about gaining new readers.

I kind of felt that this was the right decision to do. A lifestyle blogger should not be thinking about what other people wants to read, but write about whatever that suits the situation the most! There are too many bloggger that is always thinking about gaining more readers, and I don't want to be one of them!

I have a very...............nerdy boyfriend and he thought I deserved to blog on my own server and my own domain. So, today, you can reach me at monicatang.com all thanks to him! Now I write about personal stuff, outfits, shopping findings, recommendations, things I irritate over and so on. Whatever that makes me ME! Amazingly enough, I am on the 56th place in list of Norwegians top 100 bloggers!

To be fair to my non-Norwegian loyal readers, I added a Google Translate widget on my page so they still could follow me. New readers are of course always welcome, but do not expect that I will do anything to entertain YOU! ;D
