The Skanks Identity (Skankie-Pankie)

The New York Post seems to be trying to zero in on the identity of the blogger behind Zerohedge.com, a popular financial blog the newspaper says is "catching flack for its obsession with anonymity." Post reporter Kaja Whitehouse thinks 30-something Daniel Ivandijiski, who was barred last year from the securities industry for insider trading, is the author. Why is the authorship of the blog of such great importance? Why is the authorship of any blog of such great importance?
"[Zerohedge's] anonymity has also been a bit of a lightning rod, causing one commentator on CNBC to recently blast Zerohedge as residing in the 'dark and cowardly corners of the blogosphere'...the site has proven unusually popular since its launch in January."-NY Post
In Zerohedge's case it may be because the blog is beating out more established financial blogs in the much-ballyhooed "traffic" department. My philosophy: if your posts are good and your aim is true, blog followers will find you!

A snapshot of Canadian model Liskula Cohen is seen on the now defunct blog 'Skanks in NYC' in August 2008.

The Friday NYP cover story just happened to be about a blogger's identity revealed: Unemployed model and nightclub hostess, Rosemary Port created the blog called “Skanks in NYC” to blast Liskula Cohen who allegedly badmouthed her to her boyfriend. Port is described as a "29-year old unemployed model and night club hostess."
PUZZLER:How does someone who is UNEMPLOYED hire "hotshot Manhattan lawyer Sal Strazzullo" as the Post reports? Someone once told me "Nobody knows you when you're down and out, unless you're a sexy female."
A few years ago (and probably still) people were throwing stones at Michelle Malkin, saying that she must have ghostwriters, perhaps her husband Jesse. Well, so what? I say, more power to her! The Post also reporting Friday that Twitter co-founder Biz Stone's attempt to trademark the term "tweet" was rejected the US Patent & Trademark Office.

By the way, readers: If the newspapers start charging for content, I'll be using the hardcopies as sources for many more blogposts. (As will many other bloggers, including Michelle!) As a blogger (AND A JOURNALIST) I will embrace the paid content model!
