Twitter is Still Screwed Up

I've saved twitter the trouble of preparing an "explanation screen"... (Just cover up that Technorati logo with a twitter-related image, like maybe the one below...)

The DDoS attack on twitter has left the popular social networking service crippled.

App Developers Stung by Twitter's DOS Woes

Problems I'm experiencing may be location-specific. I can only send tweets directly from my personal URL. For me, this makes twitter USELESS, as most of my significant tweets have been "on the go" from my cellphone! Damned if I'm going to sit around or try to find a computer to tweet stuff!

My tweets via mobile phone and Gmail no longer get through.

Twitter Service Spotty as Attacks Continue

My tweets have stopped displaying through the blogger widget on my blog, which might be an unrelated blogger outage.

Twitter sez "we're workin' on it..."

Twitter Snag Tied to Attack on Georgian Blog

Twitter may be on the threshhold of turning into another Technorati. T'rati was a remarkable service that went face-first into the dirt after counting MySpace pages as blogs, having to admit that for 18 months they ignored the world's number one blogger at the time, and then suffering numerous crashes (oops, the Technorati monster got out!) If twitter fails to completely recover from the DDoS we can safely say the phenomena is over. IS TWITTER FINISHED? Stay tuned!

Twitter still down for many BlackBerry users

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
