Caster Semenya

On hisher magazine cover / fashion shoot, contro sports star Caster Semenya looks like he she might be a candidate for a closer shave (or am I imaging an impending 5 o'clock shadow, an imagination fueled by so much press revolving around the runner's gender?) Then there's those hands... Supposedly it won't be long before the results of gender tests are released. Will anything be proven? Stay tuned, sports fans!!!

  2. totally agree, “glamorous” Caster Semenya still looks like a man.
In fact, she (?) looks like a husky young man in drag, even if professionally designed drag.

    And it looks gross.

This, although, up until now, deemed in alleged status, wouldn’t surprise me at all:

Caster Semenya’s ex-coach has claimed the sex test controversy athlete is actually a hermaphrodite. The unnamed coach told Swiss tabloid ‘Blick that tests to determine her gender had already been taken. South Africa carried them out in March. The result is clear. Semenya should not have been allowed to start with the women at the World Championships in Berlin.

I am of the opinion that, if the above is true about her hermaphrodite condition, Caster knows it herself, and has known it for some time at least.

And I don't think she feels humiliated at all, she seems to want to pimp the world for what it can offer her. And this is my impression of all these SA track coaches.

WAIT, WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY TO COMMENT?
Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

I NEED TO BE HEARD! BUT I DONT WANT TO PAY.
Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
