The Total Transformation

You may have caught the TV infomercial all about "problem kids" and how they "destroy marriages" and "make parents miserable." Now I don't doubt that there are dysfunctional families outthere. When you Google or otherwise search for "Total Transformation" you'll find a couple of programs with the same name, but as you zero in on the James Lehman product you'll find that they've effectively "circled the wagons" --- nearly all of the blogs and websites that turn up in search are "storefronts" that feature links to purchasing the product! Very clever!

At first glance, Dale Sadler has one of the better reviews of the program, but then it becomes apparent the blog is one of hundreds employed as bot-like "marketing tools" the company uses to promote the product

I did discover ONE BLOG that offers valuable product insight WITHOUT A LINK to purchase the DVD package.

I apparently followed a path already traveled by one wearing the hat MonCapitan2002, who writes on "I tried looking up information on the internet but found nothing I would not consider suspect."

Here's another request for info:::

"Does any one have experience with a behavioral therapy called "The Total Transformation" by James Lehman? Someone recommended it for me for working with my kids and I'm wondering about it's creditability. There is a free trial but those things always seem to have a catch. The write up about the program sounds too good to be true."

The responses seem to come from real people, and there's no link to make it easy to order the package. The product also appears on search results as available for download on bit torrent type sites. I don't recommend downloading in that way and I avoid those types of websites. From what I've seen friends go through, downloading a 2-hour video or movie can take up to 9 or 10 hours depending on how many other users are engaging in the same torrent stream. It's way too easy for trojans and mischief-making software to hop on your computer, and unless you are a software geek, there's either a decoding or unzipping program (or worse yet, "method" one must follow) needed before the discs can be burned OR the end result is way too pixellated or just won't play on home equipment.

  1. I love it when people post "anti-reviews" and indict a company for "circling the marketing wagons" on a site like yours: one riddled with ads of all shapes and sizes.

    Your hypocrisy obviously has no limits.

    The Total Transformation Program is a valid and valuable resource for many parents who are dealing with defiant children. I suggest that anyone interested order it, but not from a link on this site because that might somehow dilute the effectiveness of the program.

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
