Blogging 101 ::: What Qualifies As A "Post" ?

Do articles like this one fall under the category of what we should understand to be "blog posts" If you scroll to the bottom of the article, you'll see the author's email addy along with a Facebook button, followed by a line of links to various social networks including twitter and linked-in.

I would classify it as a "blog post" IF there was a place where readers could offer comment. Like this article about LeBron James on New York Magazine's website. Or am I wrong?
