This morning I was listening to Albany radio when I heard the talk show host discussing pop-star PRINCE, who recently declared the internet dead.
HOST: "Prince says MTV is no longer relevant. Don't forget back then you couldn't download music like you can today."
Really? I have about 60 hours of videotape I "downloaded" to my VCR - all MTV Music videos. Whre do you think a lot of the old youtube videos come from? I just ordered a Philips VCR2DVD transfer unit. A friend has one and it is quite remarkable how it enhances and cleans up sound and pictures form old tapes, saving them to DVD format!
The same HOST ranted how musical acts all make their money from concerts.
The HOST was WRONG again!
Having said that, how does one explain away Bon Jovi?
While on the topic of local radio, I got a call today from a former radio colleague who broke the news to me that one of gospel music's legends has passed away... RIP WALTER HAWKINS
