Psychedelic Ghosts

Somewhere back in the 1960s.
The smell of incense and patchouli in the air.
Radio on.
WTRY playing the Bougalieu.
The newsrack inside Aunt Fanny's Garage
on Lake Avenue has recent editions of KRLA's THE BEAT. (Kind of a "big sound survey" popstar version of the Washington Park Spirit.)

Turned to the page with the Top 30 songs being played on the west coast AM radio giant.
Hmmm... # 3 "Come Up The Years" by Jefferson Airplane.
Never heard of it.
Bought the LP later at Woolworth's on Central Avenue.
Stopped by NEBA's for a soda.
Went home in time to catch DARK SHADOWS with the teen-aged girl who lived down the street.
Went home for dinner.
