Rambling, thru the past darkly...

The 1960s and early 70s weren't all fun and games in the Albany area... there was an unsolved murder involving a high school girl making her way home, struck in the head by a brick thrown from a viaduct or overpass... As the story goes, she was either going to or from a dress shop or cleaners to pick up her dress for a prom she was attending that night or the next... I think the viaduct may have been the Hawk Street Viaduct, which is mentioned and pictured here... in an article that was written by someone who grew up on Myrtle Avenue, which also happens to be the street that was home to many VI kids, including Doreen Gaul, who was murdered on the west coast by members of the notorious Charles Manson family... which brings me to the recent case of Roman Polanski... Polanski's pregnant wife, actress Sharon Tate, also died at the hands of the Manson collective, which leads me to recommend Mr. P be pardoned for his years-old sexual indiscretions. He certainly must have been extrememly disturbed by the death of his wife.

Since we are dabbling in things 60s-70s, longtime area deejay Joe Condon is on the mend following heart bypass surgery. Send your cards and letters along with those get well wishes via WYJB-FM, 6 Johnson Rd., Latham, NY 12110
