The Voyage Continues

I'm thinking it is time to cast off in new blogging directions. I've been around the block twice with programs, services, widgets, social networks and traffic "solutions" to the point where I couldn't care less about them anymore. Sure, it's great to make a few extra bucks blogging, but it's nothing to quit your full-time (or part time) job about, despite those little ads that beckon us to "make $125 an hour with Google." Face it, friends: for 99.999% of us, that is simply NOT going to happen! I've been hinting for some time now that you will soon see changes and things happening on this blog. Maybe you won't like them or appreciate them, and then again, maybe you will.

Speaking of HINTS, the answer to the blip I threw up yesterday in a post is this: eliminate "BlogCatalog" from your template and/or code. Your blog will load so so so much faster! ANYTIME you see text in your lower left hand browser bar indicating that your blog is waiting for something to load, write the offender down by hand on a piece of paper. Check back in 24 hours. If your blog or website is still hanging on whatever that site is, investigate further and don' be afraid to DELETE it! (Make a back-up copy or two of your template first. That way, should you mis-type or mis-click you won't find yourself in "digital disaster" mode!)

Annoyances : When logging into a web-based email program and the box is already checked "remember me on this computer" - why would stupid programmers have it pre-checked? Idiots! Hotmail is most famous for this security-violating feature!

Another thing I really hate is having to find the remote and lower the volume when commercials air over WTEN 10.1 in Albany. Hopefully, they will stop that, now that the Feds have taken notice!

Marvelous!
Bookmark this one: a blog that presents articles involving using your mobile phone as a modem for your laptop or netbook! There's a lot of good material here!
