Dominique Strauss-Kahn VS. Nafissatou Diallo

UPDATE July 7 ::: Recent Photos of Diallo

::: JULY 5 UPDATE! CLICK HERE! :::

"I have not given birth to a bad woman..." ~ quote from the mother of NYC chambermaid Nafissatou Diallo (Diallo is seen in the accompanying photo)

Attention is shifting from perp to victim in the debate involving an alleged sexual assault of a 32-year old hotel chambermaid in New York City on May 14th by the former International Monetary Fund managing director, Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

The maid, Nafissatou Diallo from the West African nation of Guinea, told police that the 62-year-old Strauss-Kahn came out of the bathroom naked, chased her down, forced her to perform oral sex on him and tried to remove her underwear before she broke free and fled the room.

Inquiring minds want to know more about Diallo, who received political asylum in the US, and has been employed at the hotel for three years: La famille de celle qui accuse Dominique Strauss-Khan de tentative de viol s'est confiée à SlateAfrique. Elle décrit une jolie jeune femme de nationalité guinéenne sans histoire, sérieuse et qui n'a pu être manipulée.
via SlateAfrique ::: The one who is called Ophelia is not from Senegal, Ghana or Puerto Rico, as some journalists have reported, but from Guinea.

The daughter of a merchant form the Peule tribe (40% of the population in a country of 10.3 million), she is from the Labé region in Guinea, and followed her husband, a Guinea merchant, to the USA in 1998. There, she divorced him and has been raising her 15 year old daughter alone in the Bronx. She has some family in Harlem, including her sister, who is married to a Guinean business man working in the import-export trade.

Nafissatou Diallo holds a green card, and has been working as a maid in the Sofitel Hotel for three years. She has a reputation as a serious girl.

“She is as hard a worker as her sister,” said a cousin of hers on the phone. Diallo’s family has not been able to see her yet. Like everyone else, they read the papers, but they hope the sexual assault is “less severe” that what is reported.

Mamadou Chérif Diallo, from the victim’s family, and a 35 year old Guinean who is working for a New York City agency, who is tasked with representing the family, said this:

She’s a good Muslim. She is really pretty, as are a lot of Peule women, but in our culture, we do not accept this kind of behavior. Seriously, Dominique Strauss-Kahn attacked the wrong person. It’s a scandal! It’s really sad, this accident!

Under police protection

The family explained that Nafissatou Diallo is in hiding with NYPD protection to protect her from the media. She presenting has a lawyer. The attorney general’s office in Manhattan, contacted by SlateAfrique, refused to confirm the identity of Nafissatou Diallo, a common measure to protect sexual assault victims in the US.
French-Cameroonian writer Calixthe Beyala wrote an open letter that has been posted on several websites, entitled: “On épouse une Blanche et on viole la femme noire -or- Rape the Black Woman, and Marry the White One” - here are two snippets:

“...he knows perfectly the Sofitel Hotel in New York led by French. In this hotel, work for many black women! Many of them were raped by the former head of the IMF and the scandalous affairs have always been suppressed by the hotel management...”

“It is traumatising to realise that some Black people still have chains in their minds, and do not question the appetite of powerful men for Black women, a morbid attraction, in which relations haven't changed since slavery.”

Global Voices' Julie Owono explores the possibility that Nafissatou Diallo is a "conspirator".

  1. Somebody needs to tell Nafissat that she might have been victime of a set up along with DSK.
If the allegations of Sarkosy’s involvement are true, Sofitel might have provided DSK with bad girls for a while, and then decided to use Nafissat precisely because as a good girl she would react the way she did.
In this case DSK who knows very well how exposed he would be if attacking a girl, has acted the way he would act in a dirty game with a professional bad girl…just to have fun…Even taking Nafissat’s refusal as a part of the game he was probabely used to play…with bad girls.
Also, the police should investigate DSK’s previous stays in SOFITEL with respect to these matters.
In fact, it does not make no sense to think that DSK could all of a sudden go crazy and expose himself to this situation.

  2. This is thug Chicago mob politics to intimidate bankers from downgrading our credit rating. The maid is one of Obama’s muslim spies with ties to Iranian intelligence agency. No coincidence this whole shabazz goes down just as the US reaches its debt ceiling limit. Some very implausible aspects to this case . A cold civil war is breaking out within the inner sanctum of the New World Order cult. The decisions to take out Mubarak, Khadaffi, to kill Osama Bin Laden, to humiliate the IMF leader… All part of the closing act in the fall of the American Empire .

  3. So where did she get AIDS from?

  4. One, just because she lives with someone who has aids, it does not mean she has aids. Two, no means no; DSK brought it on himself. Three, as a socialist, he should know better than oppressing the poor, that is if he really respects human beings, such as women and the poor (black or white). Four, he deserves all this trouble. Five, He is an old fat reprobate womanizing aristocratic pig. How can he be portrayed as a victim? He will destroy what is left of the French socialist economy on borrowed Muslim money Time for France to go beyond the denial stage; get off the socialist dole and start producing something besides krappy coffee from their lost African empire. So much for the French Revolution!

  7. Diallo did not divorce her husband. He was shot by the NYPD in an infamous case of obvious murder when 4 plain clothes officers came to his living quarters and drew on him as he was reaching for his wallet. They fired long after they should have and killed him. The family was awarded $3M.

If you believe a short over-weight older gentleman can out chase a 32-year old woman with a physically demanding job, you'll believe anything.

Mamadou Chérif Diallo is a cabbie or used to be if he didn't renew his license recently.

"The attorney general’s office in Manhattan, contacted by SlateAfrique, refused to confirm the identity of Nafissatou Diallo, a common measure to protect sexual assault victims in the US." ABSOLUTE BS! They do not protect the ID or much else of a woman who accuses a man of rape in this country in most cases.

"In this hotel, work for many black women! Many of them were raped by the former head of the IMF and the scandalous affairs have always been suppressed by the hotel management...”
More BS. This was a political take-down with someone's smaller and obviously extremely greedy agenda.

“It is traumatising to realise that some Black people still have chains in their minds, and do not question the appetite of powerful men for Black women, a morbid attraction, in which relations haven't changed since slavery.”
They have chains they need to rid themselves of and by so doing society as well. Rid us of lies for smaller agendas.

  8. Seriously this issue is starting to get on my last nerves. First of all the picture which has been posted by PARIS MATCH a French magazine with the VICTIM's picture... she truly does not look as someone who is religious, shy, serious.. she was only 18 at that time and truly she did not look even like someone who studied the Quran.. she looks Hip!!! with weave, make up... I truly don't want to hear anything about this girl.. she looks pretty smart for someone coming from a poor village, or for someone who only studied the QURAN. Anyway it smells nasty .. and does not have anything Catholic or JEWSIH OR MUSLIM... if she lies, she will pay for it sooner or later, if DSK attacked her purposely also, DSK will pay for it. Both of them are adults and they know the truth and GOD KNOWS THE TRUTH TOO.

  10. The photo is not of the right Diallo, her daughter, possibly?

She is a working prostitute in her thirties, - have been this for quite a few years, - she can't be a fresh looking adolescent from the photo above?

The real N.D., - if this is indeed her name (?), who can say after all the lies she got caught up with already; maybe painted up with her hair dyed, etc.?
In any case, a greedy so-and-so should be tried for her false accusations and defamation, made to pay everybody's expences and deported to her good muslims family, so, they can put her back on the straight path of decent living.

WAIT, WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY TO COMMENT?
Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.
