The Style Rookie Hits the Majors Running

No more postal service in the US? Could happen! The mail used to deliver all kinds of good stuff, and the postal folks totally missed the chance years ago to "patent" the emerging technology now known as email, its big shots believing there was "nothing there."

Years ago teenaged American Girls couldn't get enough MAGAZINES (gazillions were delivered via mail), but in 2011 no one has much time to read a magazine anymore... and with information changing by the hour, printed pulp just can't cut it anymore.

So, jumping on an incredibly available opportunity we have "15-year-old wunderkind blogger Tavi Gevinson" ... New York Magazine has championed Tami for quite some time (it never hurts to have a "power" (or two) behind your name/blog ... and just look at Tami's latest pictures! She is in that mid-teen "blossoming" stage, one of the most wonderful times in a young girl's life.

Chances are excellent that Ms. G will be moving up on this humble weblog's annual list of hot ladybloggers too!

“I adore her (Tavi), and her prodigious and well-written blog is the future of journalism.” ~ Lady Gaga. Hmmmm... should Xiaxue be concerned about that? Take a look at Rookiemag.com and comment back with your thoughts...

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
