Still No CommentLuv 4 Blogspot!

I thought that with the new "layout" design I could finally add CommentLuv here - but that is not to be! It seems that in order to use CommentLuv on blogger/blogspot, one must install IntenseDebate.

Despite what the "blogging gurus" say - CommentLuv is not available! Problem is, IntenseDebate no longer supports blogger/blogspot. So, we're back to Square One. Nope. I will not use Disqus and I find LiveFyre too intrusive. There's no way to unsubscribe from comments the way you can on other comment subscriptions. The only option is to shut communication from LiveFyre completely off. And there's no way to use CommentLuv on it anyway.

So - If you leave comments, by all means leave a manual link to your blog's most recent or best posts! It's ok with me!

Intense Debate does work on Blogger, I tried it yesterday, but the problem is that it doesn't allow you to import your Blogger comments, or export the Intense Debate comments back to Blogger if you want to change back. That's the main reason I removed it and went back to the Blogger system. But I really want to add Facebook and Twitter functionality, and of course I would love to have CommentLuv as well. I wish all these platforms would get their acts together and make things more compatible.

It simply musn't be lucrative (yet?) for Google to care enough to let Blogger work with Commentluv. We the people have to become vociferous enough about it for them to step up to the plate, I think. Just like social media, we need to remind Google that it only exists through our grace...

I share your frustration. I switched to Intense Debate (and use CommentLuv with that" right before blogger brought in threaded comments, but at that point I was committed to the switch. What's irritating is that when I switched it said that support for importing comments from blogger was coming soon and of course we know that hasn't happen and it doesn't look likely to happen anytime soon. So no matter what I'd do right now, I'd lose a bunch of comments, so I figure I might as well stay with the superior commenting system. It's this kind of stuff that makes me want to just switch to Wordpress and be done with it.

Hi Erin - switching to WP isn't the answer. For now, stick with blogspot/blogger and sit tight - I hear a fix is indeed on the way!

I cant use Intense Debate does on blogger and blogspot, I don't know wheres the problem.Can you explain some detail about it.

@ViOP

I know Intense Debate works on blogger/blog*spot. I've seen it working on 3rd party templates... I'm not sure why it won't work for you. It could be an issue with the layout (template) you are using. I've heard ID does not work on the old "Classic" blogger template system... keep me posted!

So am I correct that the only way to use CommentLuv through Blogger is to have everything hosted through Intense Debate? I really want to keep my comments tied to my blog, and not have them hosted through a third party. Does anyone know if CommentLuv is planning on being made available for Blogger without having to host through a third party? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! :-)
