Wooden Kitchen Cabinets

I was looking around my kitchen the other day and decided it's time for a makeover. As you can tell from the image at left, most of the furnishings currently in place date back to the late 1930s (of course the ref and stove are newer than that! LOL!)

I bought a new wooden table and set of 4 wooden chairs. I ordered a new window treatment. I'm going to have one of those windows that extends outward and doubles as a "mini-greenhouse" where I can grow my sprouts and spices!

Next on the list: a brand new set of modern kitchen cabinets with a better layout and larger storage capacity than what I have already.

So I know I need to do some serious updating, but WHAT TYPE OF CABINETS TO BUY?

I think traditional-style wood cabinetry is right for me - (I highly recommend wood to everyone) - the existing set in my home is of wooden construction. I like wood! It's natural, and of course the quality of the new set of cabinets must equal or surpass that of the old.

You know that although it may seem that kitchen cabinets should be a relatively standard item, in reality there are vast differences when one considers materials, style and decor. With wood as my preference, it should be fairly easy to fit the cabinetry into my walls, which aren't precisely flat or straight.

I don't have to worry too much when it comes to my appliances integrating into the kitchen cabinetry. I don't have a dishwasher and the stove and ref have assigned positions in the room.

I'd like my "new" kitchen to be a perfect combination of good looks and effective functionality! I'd better get going on my kitchen cabinets!

Totally agree with your desire for real wood!
