Micro transmitter brings WIOX to Phoenicia

The Woodstock Times has an article featuring Michael Koegel, proprietor of Mama's Boy Cafe in Phoenicia. I met Michael after the terrible storm twins Irene and Lee ravaged the Catskills.

One thing I've learned from roaming the Hudson Valley region is that many of the communications we folk in Albany and New York City take for granted sometimes vanish: I can't tell you how many times my GPS would grey out while driving and display the dreaded "no signal" message!

Matter of fact, today I stopped off at Triple-A and picked up a map and booklet so that when I'm without GPS I'll still have an idea which road I'm on!

And when it comes to ideas, Michael has a good one! If you read this, Michael, I might even suggest adding a little original programming from time to time (you could tape performances at the cafe and re-play them the next day)...

Phoenicia Inside Mama's Boy Cafe- Contrary to reports aired on WABC-TV and published in the New York Times, Phoenicia is alive and thriving...Michael Koegel at his cafe
