Video Baby Monitors v Audio Baby Monitors

There are quite a few very effective ways in which you can give yourself extra comfort when your baby is asleep in another area of your home.

Modern baby monitors have all of the required features which will enable you to go about your business without having too much concern about you baby, as they offer an excellent form of communication.

Two of the most popular types of baby monitors in the marketplace are the video monitors and the audio monitors and offer different and effective ways in which to communicate and keep a check on your baby.

What are the differences between a video and an audio monitor?

A video monitor can give you not only a great way to connect with your baby, but provides a visual aspect as well. Some features it may have include a night light facility, night vision, photo capturing features and a modern large screen to view your infant with the option of additional cameras. There are a few leading companies who specialise in this type of monitor including Luvion, Summer Infant and Tomy.

An audio monitor allows you to have a sound aspect between you and your infant and will pick up any noise coming from your baby's room. They usually have features including a night light, temperature display facility, various lullabies for a soothing effect and some of the models come with the latest DECT technology, which enables you to have crystal clear monitoring free from any interference. A few of the big names in the industry cater for these types of monitors and include BT and Philips.

If you want complete piece of mind then a baby monitor is certainly worth serious consideration, as it will just add to the experience that you have between you and your infant and you'll never be stuck for choice with the wide and varied selection of baby monitors to choose from and at prices which are very competitive for the great facilities they offer.

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
