Add Pinterest Button to Blogger

A big shout-out to all of my friends and followers on Pinterest!

I have added a Pinterest "Pin It" button to selected posts - it's a workaround until blog*spot comes up with an in-house version. When you click on it it will capture all of the images on the page. I tried various scripts and tips I found via Google - (you can run a search for yourself)curiously, NONE worked when inserted into the template as per instructions. I even went so far as to move the code around to different locations in the template HTML, to no avail.

Because the badge I'm using picks up all images, I'll be displaying it after the "read more" link, so you'll need to click through to reach it. Hey, it's better than not having the badge, right?

Now that I'm using a BlackBerry, I have noticed my blog displays incorrectly within the home browser, which I believe works differently than those on other mobiles. If you are viewing my blog on your smartphone, let me know what it looks like through your unit.

I have worked hard to create an interactive that looks good and is easy to use. I'll roll out more features as we go along and I look forward to hearing what you enjoy and what you would like to see here.

  1. So what's the code. I've been trying for two days and am trying a lot of code from tech blogs that just isn't working. I'd really appreciate it if you have a working snippet if you could toss me a bone. I have a style blog so I actually want code that captures all the pictures on a page. Thank you. I hope to hear from you.

  2. Shucks!

Blogspot says "Your HTML cannot be accepted: Reference "javascript:" is not allowed"

Since I can't leave the code here - what I will do is re-post this over the weekend and show the code for all to see

  3. This worked -

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
