Arab Sex

The term "Arab Sex" is trending... here are three reasons why:

(1) Egypt's 'plans for farewell intercourse law so husbands can have sex with DEAD wives' ... Daily Mail

(2) Stud bin Laden used sex potion, Just for Men... Washington Secrets (The Examiner)

(3) Egyptian-American columnist Mona Eltahawy has once again sparked controversy with an article in Foreign Policy magazine on April 23, 2012, entitled “Why Do They Hate Us?” about discrimination against women in the Middle East. Eltahawy argues that Arab societies are fundamentally misogynistic and that endless abuses against women, “fueled by a toxic mix of culture and religion” take place. ... Global Voices

  1. This is outrageous. I consider this as violation of basic human rights. We should unite and stop this law from being passed. How could someone think of passing such a law?

  2. People from all around the world must protest against this law and stop these people. The whole world needs to stand united in spite of differences in religion because this is unacceptable.

  3. A person who thinks of having sex with a dead woman is a monster. I wonder what leads to formulation of such laws. Women are human beings after all and must have dignity of life.

  4. Oh my gosh! Haha, why on Earth would they want to have sex with their dead wives? Wouldn't it be cold and disgusting? Not my cup of tea!

  5. Come on folks - actually read the article in the Mail. It continues to say that the proposals are nonsense and that there are no such plans. Classic case of a section of print being taken out of context.

WAIT, WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY TO COMMENT?
Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

I NEED TO BE HEARD! BUT I DONT WANT TO PAY.
Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
