Make The Most Out Of Your Vegas Trip

Many people come to Vegas without a plan.

They think they are just going to come down and wing it for a weekend. This is the quickest way to spend the largest amount of money. Vegas can be extremely expensive, but if you plan ahead you can cut down on the costs dramatically.

It is easy to save a little money in Vegas, here are a few tips how.

1. Look for coupons and discounts before you come down. There are many places online where you can find discounted coupons to shows, for dinners, for stay and much more. Many people rely on the promoters at the casinos to get them good deals, when in reality online is the best place to look.

2. Plan a budget. Plan out how much money you want to spend when you are in Vegas. If you don't do this, pulling out a couple hundred to gamble every night might not seem like a lot, but at the end of the week it will add up.

3. Use whatever hook ups you have. There is probably someone who knows someone who can get you some kind of deal or hook up. Even small deals and hook ups now and then can save you a ton of money. Utilize your resources.

4. Be careful when looking where to stay. A middle strip location might seem like a great idea, but the truth is, everywhere around the strip is a short cab ride to anywhere else on the strip.

Try looking at Las Vegas short term rentals off the strip or hotels that don't have a well known name to get the best deals.

Make the most out of your Vegas vacation. By following these few tips, you can save hundreds of dollars on your next trip. Those hundreds of dollars could be enough to pay for a second vacation, or even a third. Be smart about your planning and save money now.

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
