How To Make The Most Out Of Your Backyard

This summer is the perfect time to actually start using that space behind your house. The backyard can be a perfect place to spend summer afternoons with your family and friends. Don't quite know how to utilize the space? There are plenty of things you can do with a backyard, maybe on your own or maybe with the help of a specialty company.

One option this summer is to create a backyard fire pit. What better way to spend your summer nights then crowded around a home built fire pit with some of your best friends. Grab some cold drinks and put your story telling caps on. You can try and tackle this yourself or find Las Vegas landscape pavers to help you.

It gets hot in the summer time, why not add a pool to your backyard? You don't have to install a great big in ground pool to cool off in your backyard. Places like Walmart and other multi-purpose stores will have pools you can buy and install yourself. These pools are far less expensive than the pools you could have installed. Everyone will want to come over and take a dip.

And the simplest fix of all? Add a grill and some chairs. That's all you truly need this summer to turn your backyard into a summer hangout. Grilling burgers while sitting around is one of the best summer past times. Add a table to play cards or other games on and you will have a place to hang out all summer. Maybe even add a hammock- but don't get too lazy!

Start utilizing the space in your backyard. It's easy to turn your house into the neighborhood hang out. You will also enjoy looking out your back window and seeing more than just a lot of grass or rocks. It will make your house into more of a home, and make hanging out there fun again.

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
