Site Spotlight ::: Dear WWW Forum

For many years I have had the desire to work on a side project but could never get my head around what exactly this project should be. While lying in bed one night, about to drift off, I thought, Dear World Wide Web, what should I do? If only there was a website I could get an opinion for this question........If only….... When it hit me! At 200am I was at the computer researching the domains dearwww and dearworldwideweb. To my dismay they were both still available!! At that very moment I snatched them up.

For the next year I worked on and off developing my vision. My goal was to take an old concept and put generations X fingerprints on it. When I was growing up I remember grabbing the paper every morning to see what Dear Abby had to say. What ever happened to the letters that were never chosen to make the paper? Where did they go? Maybe you were one of those people that wrote in hoping to get an answer to an important question or perhaps you often felt you had better advice than what was being given that day? Well today is the day to start voicing your concern and/or giving your best advice to the one reaching out. Whichever role you may play, you will not get lost.

This website was built to be able to track letters and/or users that you find interesting while journaling your own adventure. All of this while maintaining anonymity!. This release is only beta and there are still many improvements I wish to make. Have a comment or suggestion? Please feel free to post on my user board allowing others to sound in as well. Happy lettering everyone!

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
