PANIC AT FACEBOOK AND TWITTER!

The powers behind the social and microblogging networks are in a race against time to roll out the changes!

The Blog Herald is spreading the FB news ::: (1) Facebook Introduces Malware ‘Checkpoint’ Security, Hopes To Slow Spread Of Viruses... "Facebook on Tuesday rolled out a set of new security “checkpoints” which the social network hopes will slow the massive spread of malware." Apparently, too much crapola has been sneaking thru the weak defenses! (2) Facebook hasn’t had the best luck with mobile advertising attempts and now it appears the company may be hedging its mobile bets on a new Facebook smartphone that could be released by early 2013. (3) Not to be outdone by The Blog Herald, Tech Crunch released the news: "Facebook today announced a brand-new version of its Facebook SDK for iOS, offering a ton of new features and perhaps most notably, support for iOS 6."

On the Twitter side, Twitter announced upgraded versions of its iPhone and Android apps Tuesday--- Twitter for iPhone 4.3 (free) arrived with a number of new features and bug fixes.

  1. I think Facebook has adopted a more twitter like interface on mobile phones. I've been noting some small changes recently. Anyway, I do think that micro blogging platforms have more potential when it comes to cell phones.

COMMENTING CHARGES
Per comment rate: $2
Payable by either clicking the BitCoin "tip me" button or the PayPal "donate" button in the sidebar.

WAIT, WHY DO I HAVE TO PAY TO COMMENT?
Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

I NEED TO BE HEARD! BUT I DONT WANT TO PAY.
Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
