Colombia: Eye on Fashion Week

Fashion fair Colombiamoda was held in Medellin, Colombia, between July 24 and 26, 2012. The fair, which includes runway shows, lectures and other events related to fashion, was followed closely by experts and citizens who used social networks to cover and discuss the event.

With science nerds and technology geeks on Twitter busy watching the Olympics, a hashtag like #Nerdlympics is expected to be born. The hashtag that was created by Alex Wild ‏(@Myrmecos) hosted a lot of tweets, and I tried to collect the best of those tweets here.


AFRICA ::: The President of Nigeria's Senate, David Mark, recently advocated clamping down on social media in the country. Many netizens perceived his comments as a declaration of battle on the Nigerian web. Digital Citizen Indaba 7 is coming: “In recent years we discussed the role of bloggers during disasters, we showed the latest digital tools in activism and continued the conversation about the digital gap.This year we propose to tackle two hot items: African digital outcasts and Internet privacy.”
