President Gasoline

I see this morning that gas is now $4.00 a gallon at many fuel stations in upstate NY.

I hear this morning on talk radio stations that most NYS families are spending on yearly average double their annual Federal Income Tax Refund payout.

I also hear Liberal and Conservative radio newscasts rushing through reports about President Barack Obamas' Thursday speech at the DNC in the same fashion they would read a car accident story.
"It was stale and empty. He's out of juice." ~ The Wall Street Journal

Add the negative press about the DNC - God and Jerusalem to the mix.

I have blogged previously that GASOLINE has the power determine the outcome of the November election.

One caller to a radio program, upset about the platform vote, which he claimed "had already been determined by teleprompter" stated "...they (Democrats) would need 12 years in the White House and a War for Obama to save face." An obvious reference to FDR and WW2.

No one sees the truth. Gasoline at $3 and under would instantly return the USA to prosperity. Consumer confidence would rocket off the chart. Jobs would rebound. People would feel comfortable buying homes again. But, due to greed and other factors, we may never see those prices again.

What we WILL see, are electric cars... not the electric cars like GM's "too good" EV-1. The electric cars that will cost consumers more money than they bargained for. They've already figured out how to "make it so." They just haven't told us about it... yet!

Case in point ::: you know those "he" - "high-efficiency" washing machines? They've been out long enough that a major built-in flaw has emerged with precision timing, forcing people who bought this junk to spend more money. You have to buy HE CLEANER or your washer, your house and your clothes will STINK.

It's all about getting YOUR "" as Eugene Krabs would say.

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
