The newly enacted law tightened the state’s restrictions on assault-style weapons and ammunition. Protesters stood in the bitter cold beginning at noon, chanting “We the People” and “Freedom.” The demonstration took place in conjunction with similar rallies across the country organized by Guns Across America. “Government never moves this fast except when they are taking your rights,” Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin told the crowd.
