Yes, it is REAL! Fraley versus Facebook targets the Social Network's “sponsored stories” – advertising that a business, organization or individual pays for, so there’s a better chance posts will be seen by a target audience. The settlement relates to a resurrected class action lawsuit first filed and failed in U.S. District Court in California in March 2011 by "seamstress" Angel Fraley.

If you are a poor soul living in a 3rd world land, and your name, profile picture, photographs, likeness or identity were featured in one of Facebook’s “sponsored stories” without your consent, you could be eligible for a pay-out of up to USD $10. The Court is scheduled hold a Fairness Hearing in San Francisco on June 28, 2013. After that hearing, a final ruling will be issued on the settlement.
