Watch Cuomo Ride

This may be an excellent time for all of us to take an "observant" stance when it comes to the political career of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Cuomo just suffered a 15 point drop in a popularity poll. Cuomo is taking a lot of heat for his new gun law. Cuomo is being broiled alive by the anti-hydrofrackers. Cuomo risks an Indian uprising regarding Casino policy. Cuomo is being targeted by educators - being blamed for the decline of public education into a fiscal abyss.

It's like, for Andrew, "OMG What's next?!?" OR is it?

If you are Andrew Cuomo, do you now take the blue pill or the red pill?

The blue pill will return you to Albany to become your father, Mario Cuomo. You will work your way out of all the problem areas, you'll be on the fence when it comes to running for Presdident of the US, and in time, be elected OUT of office.

The red pill will place you in "ride" mode. You will use previous style and strategy to win back the hearts of the people and somehow settle all of the issues amicably. The door to the presidency will open wide.

We will re-open and re-visit this post sometime in the future - perhaps in October or November of this year to see which ending materializes. Don't worry - I will not share it or sell or compromise my list (or your privacy) in any way, shape or form!

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
