Facebook bot, friend or foe? What's Google up to now?

Over on my WordPress, I have published articles on the "Facebook bot," the question of whether there is a "Blog Traffic Cap" and the terrifying "Google shutting Blogger down."

Keep this in mind: "Google Reader’s Demise is Irrelevant for Blogs – The demise of Google Reader will have no impact on blogs and blogging. If the content is good enough, people will find a way to subscribe via email or otherwise."

If that's not enough to make you cringe, prepare yourself before reading "Will Google Dofollow Penalty Hit Your Blog Soon?"

Link to bloggers you hate and bring them down a peg! Here's how! via

Tip of the day ::: This works on blogs too! You can also use the code tools/features that come with Google Chrome (I use flock) to examine what your competitors are up to. Nothing is secret!

Haven't heard any more about Xiaxue moving to WordPress, but then again our expectant blogging mum may be launching the new blog (or not?) in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
You can receive my special newsletters - published only when necessary - by clicking on the envelope icon below - then you'll be on my mailing list. Thank-you very much! Don't worry - I will not share it or sell or compromise my list (or your privacy) in any way, shape or form!

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
