Supportive Cloud Geek

Do not let the title of this post throw you! I've been performing a variety of little blogging experiments. I can do this since losing all fear of things like PR and Alexa and all the nonsense!

I found a variety of interesting things on the information highway, and like it or not, I am going to share them with YOU, dear reader! Nya-ah-ah!

If you are in the public eye, there's always a 'buzz' around you... even the most private celebrities are targeted. Just look at the Weekly World News, US, People, etc.!   The Huffington Post published a neat little piece about Karl Lagerfeld, a man who carefully constructs his image, which is why many aspects of his life remain a mystery to the public -- hey, we rarely see him without his signature sunglasses. But now, it looks like the Kaiser is shedding another layer of secrets: At last, Karl has revealed his true age.

If you could ask Karl Lagerfeld one question, what would it be?

The New York Times reports that Bill Clinton stole the show at Friday morning’s "Creativity Conference" sponsored by TIME, Microsoft and the Motion Picture Association of America...

George Jones (RIP) was set to play his final show in Nashville TN  Nov. 22 at Bridgestone Arena... The Tennesean reports that Rolling Stone Keith Richards planned to attend Jones' farewell concert. The Old Stone is now a comic-book hero!

Conan O’Brien joking at WHCD: I sold my Twitter account to Al Jazeera for $5 million. They’ll buy anything

Because, like the fine publication Tablet, whom I borrowed this concept from, I too am committed to bringing you the best, smartest, most enlightening and entertaining reporting and writing I'm able to provide, all free of charge. I take pride in my loyal readership, and I'm thrilled that you choose to engage with me in a way that is both thoughtful and thought-provoking. But the Internet, for all of its wonders, poses challenges to civilized and constructive discussion, allowing vocal—and, often, anonymous—minorities to drag it down with invective (and worse).

I'm asking people who'd like to post comments on my blog to pay a nominal fee—less a paywall than a gesture of your own commitment to the cause of great conversation. All proceeds go to helping me bring you the provocative and/or entertaining articles that brought you here in the first place.

Readers can still interact with me FREE of charge via Facebook comments and Google+ comments! You can also reach me via Twitter @davelucas

I hope this new largely symbolic measure will help create a more pleasant and cultivated environment for all! Those of you who choose to contribute, thanks for your support.
