I was searching desperately for answers as to why, no matter what I try, my Maxthon browser seems incapable of displaying certain webpages. [see image] Unlike firefox, you can google queries until you turn blue and not find answers.
The trouble began with twitter. I wasn't able to correctly view or interact with twitter in either offered "browswer mode." Sometimes if I clear the cache twitter will render correctly for a single session. But if I change websites then return to twitter, it's screwed up again.
Of late I have also had trouble accessing certain wordpress sites - same result - and blogspot, where a lot of images won't render. The problem only affects my desktop Maxthon. An older version that I have on my "internet protected" laptop*** works 100% fine.
Regular and now-and-then readers already know how I have cloudproofed and auto-updateproofed my lappie. It's an old Thinkpad that is becoming more valuable to me as days go by. Here are a few tests you can perform and tips you can apply to YOUR personal machines!
- Check Your Browser's Integrity
- This website will tell you what sound files your browser supports.
- Check your PageRank, if you
darecare. - Check those backlinks, while you're at it!
- Keep secrets secret...
*** I acquired a Lenovo ThinkPad a year ago this summer and have dedicated the laptop to my personal media projects. I do a lot with video and audio via Skype and SoundCloud, as well as projects for my employer via Adobe Audition. I outfitted the T42 with a camera purchased for a dollar at a garage sale: it’s become a workhorse for me.
